Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play from 1938 makes an affecting philosophical case for relishing life in the here and now. Heart-warming and humorous, Our Town celebrates the everyday and is a powerful call to appreciate life while we are in it.

Playhouse
The Playhouse features new stair lifts with fold-out seats allowing them to be used by patrons using wheelchairs and less mobile patrons. Four accessible wheelchair positions are available at the mid theatre entry level.
Wrong Skin
2 - 12 September
From the broken asphalt of the open-air Galiwinku Saturday Night Disco, the teenage Chooky Dancers of Elcho Island captured 1.4 million YouTube fans worldwide with their exuberant interpretation of Zorba the Greek. Screen Live #5: Wizard of Oz (1925) with live rescore by Jan Preston and Friends

For the fifth performance in our monthly Screen Live series, Australia’s queen of boogie woogie piano Jan Preston will be joined by two musicians to perform a new score to Larry Sermon’s 1925 version of The Wizard of Oz. More events in the Screen Live program

Josh Thomas - Surprise
13 September - 2 October
2010 is proving to be an even bigger year for Josh. His stand-up show Surprise is an honest and personal look at his first serious relationship, and was nominated for a Barry Award for Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The Studio has 10 wheelchair accessible positions available on the gallery and numerous spaces on the stage level (depending on configuration).
Late Night Lounge
7 August -18 December
Your neo-classical, rock 'n' roll, variety, cabaret, chat show experience. A monthly mix-up of top talent, on the couch or around the baby grand with our red-hot house band. Chill with a drink as we sample stories and songs, moves and grooves, familiar faces and secret surprise guests. You never know who could turn up!

Faker

Gideon Obarzanek is known for his distinct and unpredictable genre-defying dance productions. After twenty years making works for individuals, groups and his own company Chunky Move, Obarzanek has created Faker, a disarmingly personal solo performance of his own, exposing the expectations and disappointments, creative aspirations and personal doubts of dance and theatre making. Singular Sensation
14 - 19 September
Israeli choreographer Yasmeen Godder has made a reputation for her intense and provocative work. A fearless and uncompromising artist, every new work by Godder is an event full of expectation that has the power to leave audiences reeling. More performances in the Spring Dance program
FM Radio systems are available for performances in all venues. FM radio units may be borrowed free of charge from the cloakroom when attending a show. This service is also compatible with hearing aids via an induction loop. Please enquire from the cloakroom for this service when attending a show.
An Induction Loop system is available at the main Box Office counter windows on the Box Office level, offering customers using hearing aids clearer sound when booking tickets. It works by amplifying Box Office staff and customers’ voices.
