THE GLASSHOUSE PORT MACQUARIE
The Sydney Opera House Education and Young People’s team is working in partnership with the Glasshouse Port Macquarie to deliver an exciting and innovative arts education program to schools located in the Mid North Coast region.
The Open House Project is a three year partnership that will enhance the existing education programs at both venues. Students from the Mid North Coast will now be able to access high calibre national and international artists and performances, previously only available to Sydney audiences.
The Open House Project is carefully designed to link with the K-12 curriculum, and will provide best practice performing arts experiences for both students and teachers. The sharing of skills, knowledge and resources, between practitioners and teachers, will enhance and expand the region’s arts education opportunities and skills base.
In 2012 The Open House Project will kick off with the following program. Each live performance will feature a Q&A session with the artists and be accompanied by units of work and teachers resources with strong curriculum links.
