Ticket Terms & Conditions

  1. Prices subject to change at any time without notice.
  2. Any pricing errors or omissions will be corrected on our systems and the corrected price will be charged to your order (including those orders already submitted and accepted).
  3. Attendance of the event is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions. Another company may be presenting the performance and this ticket is subject to any conditions for that activity and/o the venue.
  4. Refunds for performance tickets are payable only in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Code of Practice for the Ticketing of Live Entertainment Events in Australia.

    Exchanges for performance tickets, or the replacement of lost, stolen or missing tickets may be permitted under certain conditions and fees may apply. Tickets for a cancelled guided tour may be refunded or transferred to another tour.
  5. The right of admission is reserved by the management. Latecomers will not be able to join a tour and will only be admitted to a performance during a suitable break which could be the first interval (if an interval is scheduled for the applicable performance).
  6. Venue access and the route for guided tours are subject to venue availability and rehearsal schedules. Ticket holders must remain with the tour guide and follow instruction. There are 200 to 300 stairs on a tour and flat, rubber soled shows should be worn.
  7. Advertised programs or tours may be varied without notice. Artists may be added, withdrawn or substituted for performances and the right to vary prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity is reserved.
  8. Any bag or item larger than A4 must be cloaked and may be inspected.
  9. Camera, video and audio recorders may not be used inside Sydney Opera House, unless expressly authorised. Sydney Opera House reserves the right to broadcast or telecast any event. No food or drink is allowed inside a venue.
  10. Ticket holders enter the venue at their own risk. Sydney Opera House will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from a pre-existing medical condition or due to a breach of these conditions.
  11. This ticket may not, without the prior written consent of Sydney Opera House, be resold for commercial packages or at a premium, nor may it be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.

General
As an Insider Member you are bound by these Terms and Conditions. Application for Insider Membership is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Sydney Opera House Trust (we or us) has the right to reject any application to participate in the Insider Membership program
Insider Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.
Use of the Insider Membership Card is limited to the person named on the card. You may request us to supply an additional card (at a cost of $10) for an additional nominated person who usually resides at your address. Proof of address may be required at time of application. The additional card will bear the nominee’s name and will allow the nominee to enjoy the Insider Membership benefits offered by us and our friends and partners (excluding the annual free benefits). You will be responsible for the use of the additional card by the additional cardholder.
Insider Membership may be cancelled, and all benefits of membership revoked, by us at our discretion if the member acts contrary to these Terms and Conditions or Sydney Opera House’s ticket terms of entry.

We may sometimes add to, change or remove benefits and offers and their associated terms and conditions. These offers are subject to change without notice. Details of all changes will be available at sydneyoperahouse.com/insiderterms.
If we decide to discontinue the Insider Membership Program, you will be notified and we will continue to offer you Insider Membership benefits until your membership expires.
Insider Membership Cards are and remain the property of Sydney Opera House and must be returned to us on demand.
You need to advise us if your Insider Membership card is lost or stolen. Please contact Insiders at 9250 7750 or email insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com.
You also need to advise us if you change your name, address or other details by contacting us on Insiders at 9250 7750 or email insiders@sydneyoperahouse.com
We may choose to not enforce some of these terms in some cases. That does not mean that we have waived our rights in respect to those terms.  Any waiver by us must be in writing.
If any of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms will survive.

In each year of your membership you are entitled to:

One free parking voucher for use at the Sydney Opera House Car Park issued when you become a Wilson Platinum Card holder. Your exit pass will be issued at the same time as the card. During the term of your membership a discounted parking rate applies. Please note that parking prices are subject to change without notice;
One complimentary Essential Tour of Sydney Opera House; and

3. Entry is open to current Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members at the date of the relevant INSIDER email setting out the competition details. 4. Entry for Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions requires entrants to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you are not eligible to enter.

  1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. ABN 69 712 101 035.
  3. Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of 18 who follow @SydOperaHouse on Twitter. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, associated agencies of this promotion and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion. 
  4. The competition is a weekly draw which commences on Friday, 25 November 2011 (AEST) and is drawn each Friday at 3:00pm (AEST) until the competition closes at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 27 2012 (AEST). 
  5. Sydney Opera House Twitter followers, who have previously won a Twitter competition prize from the Sydney Opera House within the last 3 months, are not eligible to enter. 
  6. To enter competition weekly draw participants need to first follow @SydOperaHouse on Twitter.
  7. Entrants must then tweet during the entry period (once each week’s draw is announced via a tweet from @SydOperaHouse on the Friday morning) until 3:00 pm (AEST) on the same Friday.  The message must include the following elements:

    1. I'm entering
    2. #FreeTicketFriday
    3. @SydOperaHouse
    4. to see eg. #BonIver (or whoever is advertised in the official @SydOperaHouse competition tweet)

The tweet will look like look the following:

 “I’m entering #FreeTicketFriday @SydOperaHouse to see #BonIver”

  1. Each week’s winning entry will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received by the close of that week’s draw.  Each weekly draw begins once it is announced on @SydOperaHouse.  Entries from previous weeks are deleted at the close of each respective week’s draw.  
  2. Each Sydney Opera House Twitter follower is limited to one entry into each weekly draw per Twitter account. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address, same Twitter handle or from automated competition entry services are invalid. 
  3. For each week’s draw, each valid entry will be recorded as a number and the number randomly selected by the Promoter at the close of the week’s draw will be the winner of that draw.
  4. The prize for each week’s draw will be two (2) tickets to the Sydney Opera House performance show advertised on @SydOperaHouse at the commencement of the week’s draw for a specified date and time.  Over the competition period, the value of the tickets varies from $29.00 to $129.00
  5. Prize tickets will only be valid for the particular performance date and time as advertised on @SydOperaHouse and cannot be transferred to any other person or between any other dates or times.  
  6. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into
  7. The winner will be notified by Direct Message via Twitter before 5:00 pm (AEST) on the relevant Friday. The winner must meet all the entry requirements as stipulated in these Terms and Conditions and must claim the prize by responding to the Direct Message from @SydOperaHouse by the following Monday at 3:00 pm (AEST).
  8. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. 
  9. Prizes will be sent via standard post or if the performance is within 10 days from the close of the relevant weekly draw, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name and photo identification may be required. Tickets must be collected from the Box Office no later than 30 minutes prior to the performance. The Promoter reserves the right to release for sale any ticket not collected 30 minutes prior to the performance.
  10. The Promoter and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
  11. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.

4. The prizes are not redeemable for cash or transferable to any other person.

5. Competition commencement date is Friday 2 December 2011.

6. The Marketing Specialist at Sydney Opera House will draw the winner on Monday 19 December. The draw will take place at Level 3, Customs House, Alfred Street Circular Quay, NSW, Australia.

7. Prizes will be distributed by post in January.

8. At the conclusion of the competition date all data collated from successful entries into the competition will be placed in one barrel and one entry will be pulled out.

4. A SUMMER SLEEPOVER AT THE HOUSE (SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE) TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. ABN 69 712 101 035.

3. Entry is open to Facebook subscribers worldwide over the age of 13.  Minimum age to participate in the Prize is 5 years of age.  Adult supervision for prize winners or participants under the age of 18 is required. 

4. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, associated agencies of this promotion and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.

5. The competition commences on Saturday, 19 November 2011 and will close at 4pm, Thursday, 5 January 2012. (AEST).

6. You may only enter the competition once on the Sydney Opera House Facebook page. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid. 

7. To enter the competition, participants must ‘Like’ the Sydney Opera House Facebook page and submit the completed entry form by 4pm, Thursday, 5 January 2012 (AEST).

8. The Marketing Specialist at Sydney Opera House will draw winners on Thursday, 5 January 2012 (AEST) after the draw has closed. The draw will take place at Level 3, Customs House, Alfred Street Circular Quay, NSW, Australia.

9. The first twenty (20) valid entries drawn will win a prize (Prize). Each Prize winner will be eligible to receive two (2) passes (Passes) which enable two (2) adults or one (1) adult and one (1) child over the age of 5 to attend one of two (2) Summer Sleepover at the House events to be held on Thursday, 19 January 2012 and Friday, 20 January 2012.  All participants under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by an adult.  The Prize is valued at AUD$980.

10. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. The Prize winners will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Opera House website by Monday, 9 January 2012 (AEST).

12. If the Promoter has been unsuccessful in contacting any of the Prize winners by 12 noon, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 (AEST), the Prize winner will forfeit the prize and the Promoter will redraw and select another Prize winner from the remaining valid entries on Friday 13th of January.

13. Prize winners will be sent an information package about the event via standard post.  The Promoter, and companies associated with this promotion, will take no responsibility for Prizes damaged or lost in transit. 

14. To collect Passes to the event, Prize winners (or their parent/guardian if under 18 years of age) must return signed “Sydney Opera House Summer Sleepover Participant Declaration and Disclaimer” forms to the Promoter by no later than 19 January 2012.  Failure to return the signed document to the Promoter by the specified date may result in the Prize winner forfeiting the Prize. 

15. Passes to attend the event will be available for collection at the Sydney Opera House Stage Door just prior to the event.  Photo identification may be required.  Passes will only be issued to Prize Winners who have returned signed “Sydney Opera House Summer Sleepover Participant Declaration and Disclaimer” forms to the Promoter.

16. Passes only entitle participants to attend the event on the stipulated date and are not transferable between dates or redeemable for cash.  Prizes can only be transferred with the prior written consent of the Promoter.  Prizes may not, without the prior written consent of the Promoter, be sold for commercial gain, packaged for commercial sale or used for any advertising, promotional or other commercial purpose.  If a Prize is used in any of those ways, that Prize may be forfeited and the bearer of any Passes associated with that Prize may be refused participation in the event. 

17. Any associated travel expenses to attend the event, including but not limited to, transport, airport departure taxes, fuel and security surcharges, hotel accommodation, transfer costs, meals, spending money and visas are the responsibility of the Prize winners. They are not included in the Prize.

18. If, for any reason, this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, or the events are not capable of being conducted for whatever reason, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and/or recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to State Regulation. 

19. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a Prize winner does not take an element of the Prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the Prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.
