'He has outgrown his status as the wunderkind of a vibrant British scene and become one of the most imposing figures in contemporary music' The New Yorker
British composer, pianist and conductor, Thomas Adès, is indisputably one of today's most gifted and important figures in classical music. He has been the Britten Professor of Composition at the Royal Academy of Music and in 2004 was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Essex. In 2007 a retrospective festival of his work was presented at the Barbican Arts Centre in London.
We are thrilled to present this rare offering of Adès in concert as he performs with trademark artistry and insight, his own superb compositions as well as those by Stravinsky and Nancarrow.
